Attorney at Law
Anne began her legal journey in 1994, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, followed by a Master’s Degree in Public Administration in 1996. She completed her legal education with a Juris Doctor in 1998 and launched her career as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Bannock County.
In 1999, Anne joined the Kootenai County Prosecutor’s Office, but in 2004, she discovered her true passion when she transitioned to the Kootenai County Public Defender’s Office. There, she served as a Deputy Public Defender, handling a wide range of cases including juvenile, misdemeanor, and felony matters.
In 2010, Anne was certified by the Idaho Supreme Court as Lead Counsel for Capital Defense death penalty cases and remained on the Capital Defense Roster—later managed by the Public Defense Commission—until it was dissolved under the State Public Defense Act in 2024.
Anne entered private practice in 2012, founding her own firm, which later merged with a group of attorneys in 2014. During this time, she remained deeply involved in public defense by accepting conflict and appointed cases across several counties.
In 2017, Anne achieved a long-standing professional goal when she was appointed Chief Public Defender for Kootenai County. She held this leadership position until the summer of 2024, when she reestablished her private practice. Today, Anne continues to represent clients in both appointed capital cases and private matters with the same passion and dedication that have defined her career.
